Her fascination with the Changthangi or Ladakhi Pashmina goats blossomed during her visits to the ChangTang region of Ladakh in the 1980s, igniting a passion for Pashmina wool. This passion led her family to start purchasing raw Pashmina wool, later woven into exquisite creations in Kashmir.
Despite the turmoil that forced her family to leave Kashmir, Simy's connection to her roots remained unwavering. Her life's path took her to diverse locations within and outside India, but her love for Kashmir & Pashmina endured.
As one of the few women in the IT sector, Simy faced numerous challenges and obstacles on her journey. But her trailblazing spirit and unwavering commitment to her goals propelled her forward. She rose through the ranks, eventually reaching leadership roles in IT and consulting, where she made a significant impact on the industry. Today, Simy continues to shape the landscape of technology and business as a Board Member at RSSD Networks, Head of Strategies for Starkxtech Trading WLL, and a strategy consultant for Networld IT (Germany/Qatar) and Langkopf (Germany). Her active involvement in WOSSE (World of Societal Systems Engineering) highlights her commitment to innovation and societal progress.
During the recent global pandemic and the lockdowns, where travelling became a far off dream, fate aligned with her deep-rooted passion for Kashmir's heritage. This convergence inspired her to establish Sabi, a brand committed to preserving and reviving the artistry of Pashmina weaving and the cultural richness of Kashmir.
